2017 Estate Sauvignon Blanc
At Ash Ridge we pride ourselves on making wines that represent the Bridge Pa triangle. Our Sauvignon Blanc is no exception. This distinctly Hawkes Bay style is focused on big ripe fruit flavours. The barrel fermentation is a technique used to create more interest, texture and balance of acidity on the palate.
100% Single estate grown, Bridge Pa Triangle, Hawkes Bay.
This single vineyard Sauvignon Blanc was picked as one batch. Left on skins for 4hours to enhance the intensity of aromatics. It was then split into two batches of free run juice and pressings for. Both were cold settled in tank before being racked to seasoned French oak barrels for fermentation and maturation. This wine was 70% fermented in old French oak.
Colour: Light straw colour.
Aroma: Citrus zest and lemongrass, tropical fruit and crushed dried herbs.
Palate: a full lush rich palate from the barrel fermentation is aided by passionfruit, citrus and honeyed characters.
This wine pairs perfectly with fish and chips on the beach. Soft enough to enjoy without food.
This is an early drinking style, but will cellar well for 3-5 years.
Rich tropical flavours, vibrant aromatics, with flavours of passionfruit and lime. 70% Barrel fermented, this gives this wine lovely texture and mouthfeel with refreshing but balanced acidity.
