2019 Estate Syrah

As a specialist producer of Syrah, the wineries record of awards with this variety is truly enviable. The Estate Syrah is the entry level in our range, offering all the attributes of great Syrah at remarkable value.

Fruit:

100% Single estate grown, Bridge Pa Triangle, Hawkes Bay.

100% Syrah.

Winemaking:

This wine is a blend of multiple different batches, all of which had differing treatments during fermentation. Using a mix of pump overs and hand plunging, this has helped in creating rich but fine tannins, whilst still retaining fruit forward style of Syrah. Each batch was matured for 10months in seasoned barrels, with 10% in new French oak.

Alcohol: 12.5%

Sensory Evaluation:

Colour: Vibrant with a deep purple hue.

Aroma: Intensely aromatic with ripe Boysenberries and a hint of white pepper on the nose.

Palate: Rich and full with flavours of boysenberry, spice and pepper. Finished by soft tannin.

Food Matches:

This wine pairs perfectly with Lamb, Venison, and game. Soft enough to enjoy without food.

Cellaring:

This is an early drinking style, but will cellar well for 3-5 years.
